If you don’t see me posting as often to this blog, it’s because my office uses Websense and now drivelocity is blocked. I hope to find a way around it soon. Suggestions are welcome

Could be worse, at my company we use a barracuda firewall which essentially blocks our internet access based on windows user groups.
So all the managers get to browse whatever they want (some even look at inappropriate sites) while us normal peons cant even access our yahoo mail. I feel your pain.

It’s a pitty that so many firms are blocking more and more on the web. Does it make their employees more productive? I doubt it.

No way around it yet, but hopefully w/in the next few months I’ll have a netbook and/or blackberry, so I should be good to go…
I have found some methods that might work, including connecting to my home computer and surfing via that, but that could get me into more trouble than it’s worth.

The best wayout is stupidcensorship.com you just enter your URL in the space provided and hit enter. You can browse any websites which are blocked by websense or any other software.

Vincent, …unless, of course, that site is blocked as well. I’ll give it a try, but I have a feeling it is…

Well, I’m still here, waiting patiently and working on a solution. I just posted from my new Blackberry using the app from WordPress, but it’s time consuming… I’ve also brought my new netbook to the office, but there aren’t any open wifi connections. So the next thing to try is tethering the two together. I’ll be sure to post about that ASAP.

I guess that using some proxy server may help. It is possible that some proxy servers are blocked, so try to find some new which is not in any list.

I’m only willing to so far to cirmumvent the system and I don’t want to out of my way to find trouble. It’s a safe bet that a lot of sites I would find that info on are already blocked, or aren’t trustworthy.
