Mobile Blogging

My wife and I recently upgraded our phones and I now have a Blackberry… I’ve been getting it set up slowly, but surely. The latest app I installed is from WordPress and enables me to post and edit posts and pages as well as review and approve comments. So, while I am able to become more connnected and active with drivelocity.com, I’m not sure it’s really practical for everyday blogging.

I also got a netbook for Christmas. The next thing for me to do is to try and tether it with the Blackberry. Then, I should have everything I need to blog from just about anywhere. I’m sure my wife will just love that! LOL :P

The WordPress app sounds good. Was it free? Do you know if they have it available on the iPhone app store?

    hi drivelocity!
I guess I’m so “last century” because I still just use my cell phone for talking… at least I don’t have to worry about “crackberry thumbs” :)
I spend too much time on the computer as is… can’t imagine having even more access to it. I don’t know it that would be a good thing or not. :)
    Enjoy your mobile blogging!
    Steve

Yes, it’s free and you can get the WordPress iPhone app at iphone.wordpress.org. I’d love to see how it compares, or if it’s exactly the same…

Steve, I was the same way until I got the Blackberry… The thing I’m probably using it for the most is Twittering, which doesn’t require a lot of typing… It did really come in handy when I had some virus warnings on a site – a moderator was able to keep me up-to-date while away.

I have a friend who like to do mobile blogging. He said to me he can post any of his blogs at any time at anywhere but for me I did not like to update my blog using phone. The screen is so small.. so I prefer laptop

How do you find typing blogs on your phone?

  • http://drivelocity.com drivelocity

It may be apparent that it’s not that great, as evidenced by my lack of activity… However, I have recently switched to an Android with swype, so typing is faster. The screen is also more than twice as big, so it’s easier to read and edit posts.

I’d like to do mobile blogging but, at age 71, the screen is just too small. So, I’ll stick with the laptop.

I’ve been using N95 for a few years. It’s good for telephoning but not for the web, AT ALL. Thinking of switching to HTC very soon….But still, I’d prefer writing up posts in front of my computer. Mobile are for twitters…
